William Gordon Cantrell, Sr., age 73, of Jasper, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017 at his residence. He was a heavy equipment operator with Drummond Coal for many years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, November 24, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Shane Morron and Russ McDonald will officiate.
Mr. Cantrell was preceded in death by his Parents-Elzie and Orbleen Cantrell; Son-William Gordon “Sam” Cantrell, Jr.; Brothers-Hershel and Leon Cantrell; Sister-Jo Nell Cantrell.
He is survived by his Sister-Barbara Cantrell Walker (Ronald); Special Sisters-in-law-Brenda Cantrell and Peggy Cantrell; Special Daughter-in-law-Linda Cantrell; Special Aunt-Bobbie Appling; 2 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild; Several nieces and nephews.
