William Glenn Darsey, 85, formally of Florence died Wednesday, June 12, 2019, in Murpreesboro, Tennessee.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 16, 2019, 2-3 PM at Elkins Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 3 PM in the Chapel with Allen Black officiating.

Mr. Darsey was a graduate of Gadsden County High School and Florida State University with a BS in Psychology.  He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the Florence Lodge 14 F&AM and the Shriner’s International (Florence, Alabama Chapter) and supporter of Shriner’s Hospitals for Children providing care for children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate.  He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Quincy, Florida.  He loved fishing college football, and was a huge FSU fan.

Mr. Darsey was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Elise Eley Darsey; parents, Parke E. and Ellen Gainey Darsey.

Mr. Darsey is survived by his children, Derek D. Darsey (Annette), Lisa Ellen Strunk (Steven), and Mary Elizabeth Fulghum (Larry); grandchildren, Robert M. Fulghum, Jason L. Fulghum, Samantha Elise Strunk, Heather L. McDowell (Amanda) and Josh D. McDowell (Kristen); great-grandchildren, Bryson Lee McDowell, Kinlee P. McDowell, and Cailin Mastropasqua; many nieces and nephews; special cat, “Tony”.
