William Glen Rikard – Obituary

William Glen Rikard, 100, of Florence passed away at ECM hospital Wednesday May 9, 2018. Grave side services will be held at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens Friday, May 11, 2018beginning at 10:30 A.M. Justin Pannell will be officiating.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Newbern Rikard; son, Ronald Rikard; grandchild, Zach Gann; brothers, Belevie Rickard, Herson Rickard, Leon Rickard, and J.T. Rickard; sisters, Catherine Jaynes, Alleen Kilburn, and Earline Thomas.

He is survived by his son, Greg Rikard; daughter, Diana Gann (Jim); grandchildren, Josh Gann, Todd Gann, Cristy Gann, Cynthia West, Selina Henley; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Rikard was an Electrician  with the IBEW for 70 years working at Reynolds and with TVA, a member of Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ. He loved playing his Saxophone and played since he was a teenager. He could be heard on some of the first recordings from Fame Studios, Big band, the Jess Sandlin Ensemble and in his later years with the Sunshine Band at Mitchell Hollingsworth.

Pallbearers will be the elders of Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ.
