William Gerald Higdon, 90, of Brownsboro, Alabama, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2026.
He was born September 14, 1936, in Sheffield, Alabama, to O.W. and Juanita Higdon. In 1959, he married the love of his life, Carolyn Christian of Madison, Tennessee, with whom he shared 66 wonderful years of marriage.
Gerald was a graduate of Florence State College and a devoted member of Hampton Cove Church of Christ, where he faithfully served as an elder for many years. His faith and dedication to God were an integral part of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, O.W. and Juanita Higdon; his beloved wife, Carolyn Christian Higdon; and his grandson, William Tart.
He is survived by his three daughters, Karen Hallman (Mark), Angela Justice, and Christi Johnson (Ron); five grandchildren, Carol Hailey (Ryan), Benjamin Sutton, Kara Adoff (Spencer), Isabella Thompson, and Sophia Sutton; and seven great-grandchildren, Lakin, Leila, and Eli Hailey, Tippi, Ridley, and Cosette Adoff, and Tallulah Thompson.
A private service will be held at a later date.
