William Ezell Esslinger – Obituary

William Ezell Esslinger, age 93 of Huntsville, Alabama passed away January 17, 2018. He was born on October 20, 1924 to Willie B and Fannie Jane (Cagle) Esslinger and raised in Lincoln Village.

God called home to preach in his twenties and he honored God for the 93 years he lived. He retired from the Huntsville Times after 50 years.

He was a true man of God. Although he never married or had children of his own, he made everyone he met feel like family.

He was preceded in death by his sister Ruth Crowson.

He leaves behind his sister Juanita LeCroy, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews who all feel so blessed that God placed them in his family.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Kindred Hospice, especially to Chris, Casey, and Amy for loving Uncle and giving him great care.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, Alabama. The family will receive friends at Spry Funeral Home on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Funeral services will be at 2:00 on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Spry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Uncle’s special statement was, “If I stay or if I go, I win.”
