William Edward Walls – Obituary

Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Mr. William Edward Walls, age 82 of Decherd. Mr. Walls passed from this life Friday September 28, 2018 at his home. A lifelong resident of Franklin County, he retired from AEDC following 18 years of service as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Walls was a member of the Shady Grove Church of The Nazarene, a great fan of Atlanta Braves baseball, loved to bird hunt and was a master at bowling. He is preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Perry Walls and his father, William “Will” Henry Walls; brothers, Tennyson Walls and Herman Walls; son-in-law, Rod Burch. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Thompson Walls; daughter, Kim Burch of Decherd; son Jeff Walls of Estill Springs; grandchildren, Lesley Burch, Devin Walls, Meagan Walls-Fulmer and Bailee Walls; great-granddaughters, Anna Swafford and Rylie Walls-Fulmer. The family will receive friends Saturday September 29, 2018 between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m. and on Sunday September 30 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. The funeral ceremony will be conducted from the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson-North at 2 p.m. with Rev. Troy Finney officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Walls, Troy Reavis, Joseph Stephens, Danny Warren, Dennis Thompson and Sonny Thompson.
