Mr. William Edward “Ed” Howard, age 84, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025. Born on April 13, 1940, to the late Travis and Eunice Howard, Ed lived a life devoted to his family and community.
A proud attendee of the University of Alabama, Ed later became a beloved barber in Albertville, serving the community for over 55 years. His warm demeanor and skill made his shop a hub for conversation and connection. A member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, he lived out his faith through kindness and service. Ed also enjoyed attending car shows, finding joy in the beauty of classic cars and the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts.
He is survived by his children, Tim Howard (Jennifer), Jon Howard (Linda), and Zan Turner (Josh); and his cherished grandchildren, Payton Howard, Austin Howard, and Ally Howard. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Howard.
A celebration of Ed’s life will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Grace Baptist Temple, 215 AL-68, Albertville, Alabama, 35951. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the City of Albertville c/o the City Museum, honoring Ed’s love for his hometown.
