William Edward “Buck” Price, Jr. – Obituary

William Edward “Buck” Price, Jr., age 90 of Addison entered into rest on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Lakeland Community Hospital.

Mr. Price was born on February 26, 1922 in Decatur to William Edward and Annie Jane Price. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church for 13 years. He was saved in 1999 and baptized by Brother Junior Rodgers. He worked for Cities Service Oil Company for several years, drilled water wells and also farmed for most of his life. He also worked as a welder and on shipyards. He loved working on small engines, mainly lawnmowers, and he loved keeping his yard up. He also enjoyed playing his harmonica. He was known to friends and family as Buck or Buckaroo.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Friendship Baptist Church in the Upshaw Community at 11am. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Reverend Chris Godbee will officiate.

Mr. Price is survived by his wife of 68 years, Evalene Price; son, Jason Price; and he was Buck to one grandchild, Bradon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Price and Annie Jane Thrasher Price; brother, Jackson C. Price; and sisters, Madgie Washburn and Ruth Campbell.
