William Earl Maynard was born March 30, 1936 to William Hezekiah Maynard and Lettie Pearl (Hammock) Maynard.  He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Williams, and Sara Vick, and was pre-deceased by sisters Francis Wardlow and Jeffie Nell Brantley.

He is survived by Linda Jacquelyn Vick who he married on December 26, 1962.  They had three sons, William David Maynard, James Edward Maynard, and Christopher Paul Maynard.  He is also survived by four grandchildren Julia, Amy, James, and Sam.

William E. Maynard was an Air Force veteran, received his bachelors and masters from Auburn University, and was an engineer with NASA.  He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed his family, gardening, crossword puzzles, and Auburn sporting events.

There will be a graveside service with the immediate family.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ministry of Dr. David Jeremiah, The American Cancer Society, The American Diabetes Association, or The American Heart Association.
