William Douglas Irby William Douglas Irby, 83, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County in New Albany, MS. He was born on August 27, 1941, in Mississippi to Archie and Lille Mae Miller Irby. He worked in the orange groves in Florida till he heard the furniture business was booming in Mississippi, so he packed his family up and moved to Pontotoc, MS. He started his own furniture frame cutting shop and cut frames for 50 years before retiring in March 2024.

Survivors include his sons, Wayne Irby and Lesley Irby, his brother, Edward Irby, his grandchildren, Kayla Irby, Lesley Irby, Jr., Zack Irby, Ricky Westmoreland, Jr., Jeremy Westmoreland, and Josh Westmoreland, his great-grandchildren, Chandler Mason, Payton Tutor, Fisher Herdahl, Kayleigh Irby, Tinley Irby, Bentley Irby, and Camden Irby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Angela Westmoreland, his wife, Lynda Irby, and his brothers, Richard Irby, Charles Irby, Van Irby, and James Irby.

Visitation will be Friday, February 28, 2025, from 9-11AM with service at 11AM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chandler Mason, Payton Tutor, Ricky Westmoreland, Jr., Josh Westmoreland, and Lesley Irby, Jr.
