William David Hicks, 67, of Alliance went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. He passed away from complications of COVID with double pneumonia. He was a loving and devoted Husband, Father and “Granddandy”. He loved spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, serving the Lord at church and others with his passion for helping people. He dedicated 30 years working as an elevator mechanic. He was the best at telling stories and jokes, making you smile and was always the life of the party. He taught so many the joy of finding happiness in the small things. His spontaneous singing will forever ring in our hearts as a fond memory.
Funeral services will be Saturday August 14, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery. Visitation is from 11:30 am until service time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Bea Hicks.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Nina Hicks; children, Heather Clark and Chris Hicks (Anna Gentry); grandchildren, Brandon and Madalynn Hicks and Korbin Clark; siblings, Nancy Meeks (Danny), Bruce Hicks (Donna) and Lori Fortenberry; several other family members and many friends.
