William David “Dave” Jacks, 55 of New Market, AL passed away Monday, January 26, 2015.Dave’s passion was farming, was an Eagle Scout, and was proud to be a part of the Huntsville Fire Department. He recently retired as a Captain withthe Huntsville Fire Department, after a 30-year career. Dave began his fire service career with the New Market Volunteer Fire Department and served many years there parallel to his career with Huntsville Fire Department. Dave had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by all those whose lives he touched. He will be greatly missed. Dave is survived by his wife, Debra Jacks; his daughter, Kelly Jacks; his parents, David Bartley Jacks III and Barbara Lawhorn Jacks; his uncle, William E. “Bill” Lawhorn; brother, Thomas E. Jacks and wife Tara; nephews, Collin, David, and Clay Jacks; and niece, Kathleen “Kate” Jacks. He is also survived by his step-daughter, Sara Ashlea Bagwell and grandson, Jayden Bagwell. Dave leaves behind a multitude of cousins, extended family members ,and friends that he loved very much. Visitation will be Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Berryhill Funeral Home, Huntsville, followed by the funeral service on Friday at 11:00am at the Berryhill Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert White and Elder Kilmer Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery, New Market. The family would like to thank Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care, Dr. Suresh Karne and staff. Also a special thank you goes to the Huntsville Fire Department family. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
