William D Owens was born November 19, 1958 in San Pedro, California. He was survived by his mother Millie Owens and the late Tansie Owens.

William Owens departed his life September 27, 2025 in Denver, Colorado.

He confessed Christ at an early age an united Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Sheffield, AL. He was a graduate of Deshler High School in 1976.

He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather whose greatest joy was his family. Known for his dedication to the youth in his community, he spent many years as a referee and
coach, guiding and inspiring countless young athletes on and off the field and court. His kindness, sense of humor, and steady presence left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love, wisdom, and example he gave to all.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Owens; son, William M Owens, two daughters, Denita Goodloe and Adrienne Owens; one brother, Michael Owens and his sister Tangela Owens, nine grandchildren, Tyree Woolfolk, William J, Owens, Kolten Owens, Isaiah Owens, Nastasia Owens, Aleria Meade, J’Aleria Meade, Xavier Meade, Zyan Smith. An uncle Wilma (Teresa) Simpson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
