Mr. William Craig Thornton, age 79, of Decatur, died Monday, June 14, 2021, at his residence. No service is scheduled at this time. Shelton Funeral Home is assisting his family.
Mr. Thornton was born December 6, 1941, in St. Louis, MO, to William Henry Thornton, Jr. and Lois Armstrong Thornton. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Jeff Thornton and Todd Thornton. Mr. Thornton loved to ride his motorcycle, and was an avid outdoorsman as along as his health allowed. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Elise English Thornton of Decatur; one son, Joshua Thornton of Decatur; one daughter, Teresa Thornton of Decatur; and two great-grandchildren, Grayson Thornton and Emmalyn Thornton, both of Decatur.
