William Cecil Sartin, Sr. passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Highlands Medical Center in Scottsboro, he was 89 years old. Mr. Sartin was a member of the Stevenson Volunteer Fire Department for 50 years and was also a member of Rudder’s Chapel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Hady Sartin; children, Cecil (Shannon) Sartin, Jr., Roger (Rita) Sartin, Sharon Hughes; stepchildren, Larry Brinkley, Rita Maynor, Steve (Carrie) Brinkley; sisters, Vada Rich, Hazel (Red) Carlton, Geraldine (Jerry Wayne) Phillips, Mary Vanallman; 8 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 19 step great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by: parents, Claude and Dorothy Sartin; brothers, Paul, Alvis, Calvin, Kenneth, Bobby, and infant brother, Gerald; sister, Izella Lanford.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 5-8:00PM at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January, 18, 2026 beginning at 1:50PM with Bro. Frank Young officiating and burial to follow in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.
