William Carter Reed – Obituary

William Carter Reed, 44 of the Welcome Community, Baileyton, formerly of Arab died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Reed was born December 3, 1970 in Texarkana, Texas, the son of James William (Bill) and Brenda Rose Reed. He was a graduate of Arab High School, Class of 1989 and also a graduate of Virginia College.

During his high school days at Arab he was a member of the Marching Band and played the tuba. He still played the tuba. He was a computer technician and also a sound technician at the First United Methodist Church, Arab where he was a faithful member.

He is survived by his parents: James William (Bill) and Brenda Rose Reed of Baileyton, formerly of Arab; a sister and brother-in-law: Marla Rose Reed Cobbs (Scott); a nephew: Langston Cobbs; a niece: Leanna Cobbs; a great nephew: Redding Cobbs; aunts: Janet Rose Stoker, Lynnette Rose Hofland, Patsy Reed Tong; uncles: Roger Rose, John Rose, Gary Rose and a multitude of cousins, his church family and many dear friends.

A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, Arab, Alabama, Reverend Steve West and Reverend Nicky James, officiating.

Visitation with the Family will be 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, Arab, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations in his memory be made to the Music Department, Brass Ensemble at the First United Methodist Church, Arab, Alabama.

The Family elected cremation; Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel assisted with cremation arrangements.
