William Brooks “Bill” Jones, 87, of Florence, passed away Sunday March 17, 2013, at his home. Visitation will begin at 2pm Wednesday March 20, at Greenview Funeral Home followed by the service at 4pm in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.Mr. Jones was born in Lauderdale County and was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a retired welding teacher, held an honorary B.A. degree from the State Board of Education and was a member of the Teacher’s Association.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Gladys Virginia Jones; son-in-law, Timothy Joe Faulkner; granddaughter, Shana Leigh Faulkner; and parents, Leonard and Lelon Lucille Jones. He is survived by his daughters, Linda J. French (Hal), Murfreesboro, TN and Vicki L. James, Florence; grandchildren, Dustin Cowen, Ashville, NC, Jennifer Faulkner (Norman), Florence, Jason (T.J.) Faulkner, Florence; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Faulkner, Florence and Joeseph “Brooks” Moore, Florence.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Cowen, Jason (T.J.) Faulkner, Norman Moore, Hal French, Bill Wright and Les Troxell. Honorary pallbearers will be Rex Montgomery and Alfred Kendrick.
