Shirley Ann Engle
(August 13, 1939 – March 17, 2013)

Funeral service for Shirley Ann Engle, 73, will be Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Shoal Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Engle died on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born August 13, 1939, in Morgan County to Cleveland Winfield Narmore and Grace Barbara (Nichols) Narmore. Shirley was a 1956 graduate of Austinville High School and was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church in Somerville. She was married for 57 years to her best friend, Robert Engle. In the 1980’s, she served as Somerville Court Clerk and helped establish the Somerville Library. She helped with fundraisers for the preservation of the Historical Somerville Courthouse, and participated in Somerville Frontier Days. She loved the outdoors with hobbies including fishing and hunting arrowheads. She proudly embraced her Native American Indian Ancestry. She was preceded in death by two sons: Michael Engle and Anthony Engle, One Brother: Horace Narmore, and a sister: Barbara Hartselle.

Two Sons: Martin Engle (Sudonda), Moulton, AL and Jeffery Engle (Sharon), Trinity, AL

One Daughter-in-Law: Melinda Engle, Athens, AL

One Brother: Donald Narmore, Melbourne, FL

One Sister: Joy Brunton, Somerville, AL

Six Grandchildren: Jeremiah Engle, Kari Engle, Chad Tribble, Brandon Bryant, Christopher Bryant, and Clay Bryant

8 Great Grandchildren

Caregiver: June Helms

Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Engle, Chad Tribble, Brandon Bryant, Christopher Bryant, Clayton Bryant, and Bruce Brunton.
