William (Billy) Morton Patrick – Obituary

William (Billy) Morton Patrick was 88-years old. He was born March 9, 1927, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and died Nov. 25, 2015, at his home in Florence, Alabama.
Billy was predeceased by his parents, Malcolm and Myrtle Patrick; sister, Peggy Fitzwater; brothers, Marvin, Otis, Norman, Lawson, James, and Kenneth; and son-in-law, James (Butch) Tucker.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Louise Robinson Patrick, of Florence; sons, William Thomas (Tommy) Patrick and wife, Anita, and Ricky N. Patrick and wife, Jennifer, and daughter, Kimberly Patrick Tucker, all of Florence; grandchildren, Josh Patrick, Ashley Patrick, Courtney Patrick Henson (Jeff), Ben Tucker (Rebekah), and Matt Tucker; great-grandsons, Drew Henson and Gatlin Tucker; brother, Don Patrick and wife, Chalma, and sister, Lena Stephens, all of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and nieces and nephews
Billy was a member of Underwood Baptist Church where he volunteered for 12 years with the church’s Meals on Wheels program and various maintenance projects around the church. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was the youngest of four brothers serving his country at the same time. After returning from service, he was employed by Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company and remained in their employment until his retirement. With his employment, he and his family moved to Florence in 1959.
A time of visitation with his family will be today from 10 a.m. to noon at Spry-Williams Funeral Home on Helton Drive. A service to celebrate his life will follow the visitation at noon today with Brother Donnie McDaniel officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Coble, Leroy Darby, Ed Fielder, Al Kendrick, Landon Smith, and members of his senior Sunday school class.
The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for their care and support the last few weeks as well as friends and neighbors for their love and support during Billy’s illness.
