William “Bill” Vines is no longer suffering and was united with Jesus on Thanksgiving Morning. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Horace Vines Jr., his wife, Barbara Vines, and his son, Flint Vines. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Grattan-Anderson; son-in-love, Roland Anderson; daughter-in-love, Mona Vines; grandchildren, Matthew Grattan and Savannah Vines; and six nieces and nephews.
Bill loved his family, golf, and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Bill attended Birmingham Southern and graduated from the University of Alabama. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army and worked to help explore God’s creation with NASA. He was a beloved member and friend at Huntsville Country Club for many years. Any moment you shared with Bill would have been filled with laughter and a lot of jokes. Bill recently celebrated his 90th Birthday in August.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 30 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow in the chapel with the Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery
