William “Bill” Larry Mitchell, 71, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Letha Mitchell. A native Huntsvillian, Bill was a devoted husband, and a loving father and grandfather. He served in the US Navy from 1966 to 1972. He worked in the field of dentistry for 44 years, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Beth Mitchell; sons, William Burke Mitchell (Joleen), and Jonah David Mitchell; grandchildren, Emma Jean, Parker Burke, Gabriel Dean and Riley Suzannah Mitchell; sister, Nancy Mitchell Stidger; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, May 24 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service in the chapel with Chaplain Bill Chapman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
