William “Bill” Hovater, age 73, of Tuscumbia, Ala., passed away Monday, July 15, 2013, at his home. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Russellville, Ala. and served in theUnited States Navy.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2013, from noon-2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel, with Brother John McCullar and Dr. Betty Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Turner Hovater; daughters, Cathy (Tom) Hill, of Huntsville, Ala., and Tina (Steven) Smith, of Phil Campbell, Ala.; sister, Marcie Bowling, of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; brother, John (Vickie) Hovater, of Florence, Ala.; brother-in-law, Paul Pate, of Tuscumbia, Ala.; three stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Delmar and Elizabeth Ann Beckwith Hovater; sisters, Brenda Wallace and Virginia Pate.
