William “Bill” Henry Rogers, age 93 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Maristone of Franklin. A native of Franklin County, he was born on November 8, 1930, to the late John Henry and Verna Mae (Smith) Rogers. A devoted Christian, Bill started his ministry in 1954 while studying at Lipscomb University in Nashville. During the span of his ministry, the Lord took him to Panama twice, as well as churches in Georgia, Indiana, and Flint, Michigan. After years of enjoying preparing sermons, praying, and the fellowship with his congregations, especially the potluck meals, Bill retired from the Huntland Church of Christ in 2017. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading history books, watching westerns, gardening, and eating a good meal. A “people” person, he had a happy, jolly nature and enjoyed making others laugh. But above all, Bill loved the Lord and his beloved family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Poca Marine (Gulley) Rogers; son, Phillip Lee Rogers; and siblings, Robert Rogers, John Rogers, Martha Stewart, Frank Rogers, Dossett Rogers, and Cleijo Rogers. Bill is survived by his loving children, Minta (Kerwin) Everson, Tim (Connie) Rogers, Ellen (Scott) Ford, and Paul Rogers; grandchildren, Amber (Jeff) Hammond, Audrey (Maurice) Miller, Austen Everson, Aren (Sarah) Everson, Virginia Jill (Tom) Herb, Jena (Jarrod) Wildman, Zachary (Heather) Rogers, Kelsey (Alan) Vazquez, Kayla Ford, Dylan Ford, and Daniel Ford; eighteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Tuesday, February 13, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with son-in-law Kerwin Everson officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with military honors bestowed. Memorial contributions maybe sent to the Huntland Church of Christ, 535 Main Street, Huntland, TN 37345.
