First Sergeant William “Bill” Harrelson, 61, of Baileyton, Alabama passed away on October 21, 2020.
1SG Harrelson was born July 24, 1959 in Greenville, South Carolina to Charlie and Dorothy Harrelson. In 1977 he joined the U.S. Army. He served as a helicopter mechanic and crewman in Germany, Panama, and the Bahamas in support of US interests. He was a loyal Soldier and loved aviation. He retired from active service March 31, 1998 after his promotion to 1SG. He continued service to his country working as an aviation logistics analyst for several government contracting companies in Afghanistan and Jordon.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa; his children, Joseph and Glenda, Jared and Saskia, and Daniel; his grandchildren, Kelsy, Annalena, Tyra, Emelyn, and Isabelle; his brothers, Chip. John, and Bob and “Cat;” and numerous nieces and nephews.
