William “Bill” Fred Wayslow born March 5th, 1947 to William and Margery Wasylow peacefully joined his loved ones January 4th, 2024. William was the first of 11 siblings. He was raised on a working dairy farm in Mekinock, North Dakota. In high school he was very active in the FHA where he was the state president. As a young adult he joined the Army which carried him to Colorado, Germany and Huntsville, While in Huntsville, he met and married Doris Dicus. During his later Army time they traveled to Germany with two small boys. After 8 years and 5 months they settled in Scottsboro. At that time then Bellefonte Nuclear Plant was under construction. He started there as an electrician while moving into many different roles 31 years before retiring. There he became a mentor to many young men and was a well respected man. During that time their family grew to three boys. Through the years they raised cattle, cut hay for many people and wired many new homes. William believed you should work hard for what you had and taught many life lessons. He was a great provider for his family. He and Doris were married 51 years when she passed. William is leaving behind two sons that he guided into the men they are today and two daughter-in-law’s that looked to him as a father. A granddaughter that might have gotten into trouble a time or two. A great granddaughter he enjoyed for 13 months. Along with many other loved ones.

He is survived by his sons, Kerry Wasylow (Carol) and Chris Wasylow (Beth); grandchildren, Sarah Wooten (Jacob), Will Bryant, Blake Wasylow and Megan Zuhlke; honorary grandchild Jessica McCray (Hunter); great grandchildren, Ava Wooten, Katie and Kylie Harrison and Billy Zuhlke Jr.; siblings, Mary Carlson (Richard), Jim Wasylow (Lila), Kathy Weber (Jim), Joane Wosick (Art), Dave Wasylow (Kim), Carol Johnson (Wade), Susan Wanstrom (Kurt), Beth Zimmerman (Karen) and Mark Wasylow (Stacey).

He was preceded in death by his Wife Doris Dicus Wasylow; parents, William and Margery Wasylow; brother, Patrick Wasylow; son Anthony Wasylow and grandson, Michael Harrison.

Funeral services will be held at Scottsboro Funeral Home on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. The visitation will be from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home. The burial will be in Center Point Cemetery.
