William “Bill” Breen – Obituary

William “Bill” Breen, 80, of Huntsville, passed away Wednesday. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Anna Mae Holland Breen, and sister, Julia Clark.

Mr. Breen graduated from Maryville College and entered Marine Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA. He served in the US Marine Corp in the US and abroad. He was honorably discharged and promoted to the rank of Captain. Mr. Breen assisted in organizing the first Better Business Bureau in Huntsville. He was self- employed in the personnel staffing and recruiting business, and was a charter member and captain of the Huntsville Quarterback Club.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Scottie; sons, Mark Breen and Harold Breen and wife, Valeria; granddaughters, Amanda Price and husband, Brandon, and Erica and Anna Marie Breen; and great-granddaughter, Rylee Scott Price.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Murray Hall at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. The memorial service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Dr. Charles Gattis officiating.

Memorials may be made to Birmingham Hospice Service of Alabama or the Alzheimer’s Association.
