Funeral Services for William Andy “Billie” Bavar, age 85 of Hanceville, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in the Cullman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cullman City Cemetery, with Rev. Charles York officiating.

Billie was born on May 13, 1930 to the late Joseph & Pauline Hunter Bavar. He passed away at Floyd E. “Tut” Fann State Veterans Home on Thursday, April 28, 2016. He was a deacon at White’s Grove Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War and had a passion for farming on the family land for over three generations. Mr. Bavar is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Frances Lorene Bavar and one brother, Bobby Bavar.
He is survived by his Son – Ronnie (Juanita) Bavar; 2 – Brothers – Joe (Carol) Bavar Jr. & Robin (Sandra) Bavar; 2 – Grandchildren – Matthew Bavar & Jenna (Cody) Nix; and one Great-Grandson – Connor Nix.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
