WAMr. William Andrew (“W.A”.) Denton, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 16, 2016, at Mitchell Hollingsworth Rehabilitation Center in Florence, Alabama with his beloved wife and daughter at his side.
Mr. Denton leaves a legacy of love, happiness, and cherished memories with his loving wife of 58 years, Mrs. Sallie M. Denton. Their union was blessed with one son, David Dewitt Denton who passed shortly after his birth, a loving and devoted daughter, Ms. Salena Kay Denton, and his pride and joy, a grandson, whom he adored like a son, Kaelin William Denton. He also leaves to cherish his memory his nephew, Mr. Norris Denton (Elizabeth); sister-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Denton; brother-in-law, Mr. Stonie J. (Ora Lee); a host of family including many nieces and nephews by marriage; his treasured cousins, many of whom were like siblings; and many friends.
Mr. Denton was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Connie Mae (Malone) Denton; brother, James Earl Denton; sister, Hattie Denton; and infant son, David Dewitt Denton.
Public viewing is today, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Grace Memorial Funeral Home, Sheffield.
Visitation with family is today, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 21, 11 a.m., First Missionary Baptist Church, Sheffield.
Interment is in Cherokee CME Church Cemetery, Cherokee.
