William Albert Smith, age 65 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Vanderbilt-Wilson County Medical Center. He was born in Ashland City on March 24, 1957, to the late William Clayburn and Hazel Valetta (Felts) Smith. Before his retirement, Albert had worked at Nashville Bridge, MFI, and Benchmark, and he truly enjoyed his work. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, riding four-wheelers, attending tractor pulls, and watching westerns. Albert will be remembered for his outgoing and caring personality as he never met a stranger…he will be missed by many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Smith. Albert is survived by his loving wife of nineteen years, Tina Smith; children, Hazel Bishop, Elizabeth (Sam) Borders, Edith (Noah) Foster, Calvin West, Kenneth Smith, and Christopher Hampton Sr; grandchildren, James and John Thomas Bishop, Mary Foster, Skyler Borne, Christopher Hampton Jr, Trever Smith, Lailena Garner, and Grayson Hampton; siblings, Melissa Smith, Arnold Smith, Steve Smith, and Irvin Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel.
