Born on March 12, 1940, to Sidney Grant Peebles and Hazel Ruth Peebles of Hillsboro, Alabama. He was called to join his cherished wife of 42 years, Melba Clarine Peebles, along with his parents and brother, Ronnie Peebles, in the eternal embrace of peace.

Willard leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by his son, Keith Peebles (Denise) of Rogersville, AL; daughter, Brooke Peebles Walker (Forrest) of McDonough, GA; brothers, Jim and Donnie Peebles; grandchildren, Jonathan Peebles (Shawnta) and Ashley Peebles Hawkins (Matt); great-grandchildren, James Michael Grant Hawkins, Jettson Drake Peebles, Gavin Keith Peebles; grandgodchildren, Skylar and Amber Knox.

At the age of 19, Willard embarked on an entrepreneurial journey that would shape his life and community. He poured his heart and soul into Peebles Auto Parts in Town Creek, Alabama, until the remarkable age of 80.

In celebrating his life, we honor Willard’s enduring spirit and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. His memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives he touched.

The pallbearers, Steve Grissom, Greg Grissom, Steve Posey, Wayne Oliver, Matthew Hawkins, and Jonathan Peebles, alongside honorary pallbearers Russell Laster, Bill King, and nephews, will carry him to his final resting place.

A graveside ceremony, officiated by Steve Agee and Gerald Carnes, will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in Town Creek at 11 AM on Thursday, March 28.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Willard and Melba Peebles Endowment for Financial Literacy in the School of Accountancy at Auburn University or JM’s Journey to support great-grandson, James Michael.

As we bid farewell to Willard Wayne Peebles, we find solace in the memories he leaves behind and the profound impact he made on our lives. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire us all.
