Wiliam Floyd Carmack – Obituary

Funeral service for Wiliam Floyd Carmack, 87, of Tuscumbia will be Sunday, January 12, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rob Peavy officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 until service time.

Mr. Carmack, who died Thursday, January 9, 2014, at South Hampton Nursing and Rehab in Owens Crossroads, was born July 20, 1926, in Tuscumbia to the late John Edward Carmack and Minnie Thompkins Carmack. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and an accomplished tool and die designer.

Survivors include two sons, William Larry Carmack (Maryann), Bobby Ray Carmack (Judy), both of Lacey’s Spring; two daughters, Teresa “Terri” Greathouse (Martin), Ft. Valley, Ga., Peggy Carmack, Eva; sister, Linus Willingham, Tuscumbia; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jarrod Carmack, Martin Greathouse, Chris Douthit, Eric Douthit, Bradley Douthit and Kyle Onkst.
