Wiley T. Abernathy III passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Pulaski. He was born in Pulaski on November 9, 1937 and was 81 years old.
He was a loving and devoted husband to Joan, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, owner and operator of Abernathy Hardware until 1979. He was a graduate of Columbia Military Academy in 1955, attended the University of Alabama and Martin Methodist College. He was an Eagle Scout and received the God and Country Award, coached his sons baseball team and his grand-daughters softball team, was an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 2:00pm until 3:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.
Memorial Service will take place after visitation on Wednesday at 3:00pm with Bro. Mark Johnson officiating.

He was preceded in death by his son, Wiley T. “Chip” Abernathy IV parents, Wiley T. Abernathy, Jr. and Selma Swearingen Abernathy, and a son-in-law, Miles Hood.
