Mr. Wiley R. McLeod passed away at his residence after an extended illness
Mr. McLeod was born in Opp, Alabama to Norwood and Veatrice McLeod. After he graduated from Opp High School, he served four years in the United States Navy. He earned his Math Degree from Troy State University and later an Electrical Engineering Degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He retired from General Electric and NAS. Mr. McLeod was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed working with Habitat for Humanity. He was also an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a very special cousin, Waylon McKinney.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Jeanette H. McLeod; daughters, Karen Stark and husband, Todd, of Edmond, OK, and Janet Day and husband, Steve, of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Reed and Cole Stark and Laura and Eric Day; brother Shelby Gene McLeod and wife, Eva, of Trinity, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, February 22 at Trinity United Methodist Church. The service to celebrate his life will be at 1 p.m. with Dr. Rick Owen. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 23 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Geneva, Alabama with Dr. Rick Owen officiating. Pittman Funeral Home will be assisting the family with burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity, Trinity United Methodist Church or to a Hospice organization of your choice.
