Wildon Harbin Bennett – Obituary

Wildon Harbin Bennett, 95, of Huntsville, passed away Friday.  Mr. Bennett played football for the University of Alabama and was a member of the Madison County Sports Hall of Fame.  He was a Staff Sergeant in the US Army Air Corps from 1942 – 1946 and was a business owner and operator in Huntsville for over 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Faye Bennett; daughter, Dawn Davis; brother, Johnny ‘Buddy’ Bennett; and sisters, Frances Hanvey and Geraldine Penney.

Survivors include daughter, Tara Cochran (Joe); son, Robbyn Bennett (Janet); son-in-law, Don Davis; brother, Joe Bennett; and grandchildren, Kara Cochran, Caroline Bennett and Ethan Bennett.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Maple Hill Cemetery with Rev. Toy Brindley officiating.
