Wilda W. Tanner – Obituary

Funeral Service for Mrs. Wilda W. Tanner age 100 of Eva passed away September 17,2016 at her home. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Peck Funeral Home. The service will be at 2:00 pm at Rock Creek Baptist Church on Tuesday. She will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery. Bro. Donald Tanner will officiate and Peck Funeral Home will be directing.

Mrs. Tanner was born June 30, 1916 in Morgan County to Virgil Lafayette Weaver and Beatrice Holmes Weaver. She is preceded by in death by her parents and her husband Cecil Tanner. She was a lifelong resident of Rock Creek. Wilda was the oldest member of Rock Creek Baptist Church and the Rock Creek Homemakers club. She was retired from Orr Drapery.

Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews:

Margaret Smith, Elaine Bennett, Jim Pellowski

Loretta Patton, Gary Blackwood, Annette Sled

Jan Patterson, Pam Brittenbinder, Clifton Childers

Noel Childers, and host of other family and friends,

and special care-givers.

I loved this woman very much and will greatly miss her, I spend lots of time with her and her husband Cecil in my youth, going grocery shopping and stuff, she taught me many things and I’m very saddened to hear of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
