Funeral service for Wilburn Leon Holmes, 91, will be Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Culp officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Holmes died on Monday, February 4, 2019 at his residence. He was born May 2, 1927, in Morgan County to Curtis Wilburn Holmes and Bertha Ann Derrick Holmes. Mr. Holmes wa a U.S. Army and Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War and World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was a business owner in Hartselle since 1957. He was married to his wife, Dolly Wilson Holmes for 64 years. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother: Thurman Holmes and a sister: Lorene Anders.
