Whitney J. Duhon, age 99 of Winchester, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Abbeville, Louisiana on January 8, 1925. Whitney served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Before his retirement, he was employed as a millwright in the steel industry. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the lake, repairing boat motors, riding his mower, and traveling. He especially enjoyed his breakfast trips to Hardees. Whitney attended Riva Lake Baptist Church for twenty-five years and cherished the time spent with his church family. His outgoing personality and humble nature will be missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Bernice Smith Duhon; son, Edward Duhon; and granddaughter, Tammy Arnold. Whitney is survived by his loving wife, Betty Duhon; sons, Leonard Duhon, Edwin Duhon, and Mark Foshee; daughters, Patty Keith, Anna (Mike) Wylie, and Nancy (Gene) Jarvis; grandchildren, Jeffery Duhon, Jerry Duhon, Karie Duhon, Shawn Duhon, Tracie Duhon, Melissa Vaclavik, Jeanette Lillier, Timothy (Rebecca) Hartman, Anthony Hartman, Andrew Keith, Madison Keith, Nicole Foshee, Savannah Foshee, Michael Foshee, and Katrina Williams; several great-grandchildren; and extended family members. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Sanders officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens with military honors bestowed and Andrew Keith, Tim Hartman, Dillon Hartman, Larry Peacock, Larry Raulston, and Ronald Buckner serving as pallbearers.
