COLBERT COUNTY-January is going to have several events in Colbert County that will be if intrest and lots of fun for the whole family.  Check it out!

December 31, 2025 – Midnighters New Year’s Eve Celebration, Old Grace Church,
Celebrate the New Year with The Midnighters at Old Grace Church in Sheffield on New
Year’s Eve. The celebration runs from 9:00 PM until midnight, with doors opening at 8:00
PM. This is a BYOB event where dancing is highly encouraged. Tickets are available through
Eventbrite for general admission, but space is limited to a 160-person capacity. For

January 3,9,10,17,25, 2026 – Cane Creek Canyon Trail Care, Cane Creek Canyon Nature
Preserve, 251 Loop Rd., Tuscumbia. Join the Cane Creek Land Stewards for a trail care
session at Cane Creek Canyon from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Participants will assist with
various tasks, including building natural steps and water control features, updating trail
markers, and clearing debris. No prior experience is necessary, but attendees should wear
sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring their own water, snacks, and work gloves; however,
extra tools and gloves will be provided. Registration is required for each individual, and
guardians must sign waivers for participating minors. For additional information, please

January 6, 2026 – Christopher Metress, Sheffield Public Library, 316 N. Montgomery
Ave., Sheffield. Christopher Metress will present A Shocking Story: William Bradford Huie
and the Lynching of Emmett Till at the Sheffield Public Library on January 6, 2026. The
program begins at 2:00 pm and is free to the public. This presentation, supported by a
grant from the Alabama Humanities Alliance, will explore how historical truths are told and

January 9, 2026 – Otis Walker Band, Champy’s Shoals, 120 2 nd St., Muscle Shoals. The Otis
Walker Band is set to make their debut performance at Champy’s Shoals on Friday, January
9th, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Frontman Otis Walker returns to the area to showcase the
band’s signature musical gumbo sound, featuring a blend of New Orleans funk, Delta blues,
southern soul, and roots rock. The performance will also feature the band’s newest
member, guitarist Rob Malone, for a night of high-energy grooves and soulful storytelling.
Join the community at Champy’s Shoals to welcome this talented group to the local stage.

January 17, 2026 – Freedom Hills Freeze Out Ride, RaceTrac, 503 Highway 43 S,
Tuscumbia. Join Emily Mitchell for the Freedom Hills Freeze Out Ride starting at the
RaceTrac in Tuscumbia at 9:00 AM. This event is open to all street-legal 4×4 vehicles and features a route consisting of both gravel and pavement. The ride will travel along parts of the Natchez Trace and includes a scheduled stop for a packed lunch at the historic Coon Dog Cemetery. Participants are encouraged to dress warmly, especially if choosing to ride
with tops or doors removed. While the exact duration is not set, expect a scenic journey
that lasts several hours with stops as needed.
