Kazari Exhibit

The Tennessee Valley Museum of Art proudly presents KAZARI: Decorative Arts of Japan, an immersive exhibit showcasing the rich material culture of Japan from the 17th to the 20th century. Kazari, meaning “to decorate” or “to adorn,” explores how decoration transforms ordinary spaces into something sacred through the interplay of objects and their settings. Featuring pieces from the esteemed private collection of Mr. Lynn Ray of Florence, AL, as well as works from Wanda Isom and the Isom Collection (TVAA permanent collection), this exhibit offers a rare glimpse into Japan’s artistic heritage. A series of related public events will accompany the exhibition, inviting visitors to engage with and explore the beauty of Japanese decorative arts. Amateur Players Tour- The Shoals
April 5-6, 2025
he Amateur Players Tour – The Shoals is scheduled for April 5–6, 2025, at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. This regional tournament will feature two prestigious courses: the Fighting Joe Course, measuring 8,092 yards, and the Schoolmaster Course. The event is a 54-hole stroke play tournament, with a $7,500 prize pool (based on a full field) and a field limit of 128 players. The registration fee of $375 covers both rounds, carts, range balls, and a special 2025 regional series tee gift. An optional skins game is available on April 4, 2025. The registration deadline is March 16, 2025, with no refunds after that date. Participants must be paid members of the Amateur Players Tour to compete. The Memorial Bike Ride for Veteran Suicide Prevention takes place on the first Saturday in April, starting at 9 AM with KSU at 10 AM. The 111-mile ride begins and ends at Natchez Trace Harley-Davidson. Rider fees are $25, passengers $5, and vendor fees $25. Join Cane Creek Land Stewards in trail care work such as: building natural steps and water control features, updating trail markers and assisting with trail cutbacks and clearing debris from trails. Spring Park Inaugural Disc Golf Tournament

The Spring Park Inaugural, hosted by the Colbert County Disc Golf Club, will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in historic Tuscumbia, Alabama. This all-amateur event offers a range of divisions, from Advanced Mixed to Junior Females, ensuring a competitive and fun experience for all participants. Players will compete in two rounds of PDGA-sanctioned C-tier tournament play. Participants will also receive a tournament disc and golf towel in their player’s pack. Net proceeds will benefit the maintenance and improvements of the Spring Park Disc Golf Course.
