What’s Happening At The Shoals Theatre

FLORENCE-We have several exciting shows coming up here at the Shoals Community Theatre!
-This Saturday, we have comedian Henry Cho who has performed on national television as well as stages such as the Grand Ole Opry! We have a few tickets remaining at $30 each!
-Also this weekend, we have auditions for The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas! Have you ever wanted to be in a play? Now is the time to audition! Roles are available for 35 people ranging in age from 16 to 60+. Roles require dance and movement-some more than others. Those auditioning will be taught a song from the show and also choreography. You may audition from a prepared piece from the show as well. Pianist will be provided as well as cd player.  Audition dates are:
  • Saturday, January 26th at 10am-2pm.
  • Sunday, January 27th at 2pm-4pm.
-Tickets are now available for the Shoals Storytelling Festival! Three Day Passes are available for $70, Two Day Passes (Friday & Saturday) for $50. and Single Day Passes for $30. This years storytellers include:
  • Gee’s Bend Quilters (Mary Ann Pettway and China Pettway) and Sean Dietrich (Sean of the South) on Thursday May 16th.
  • Storyteller Showcase with Donald Davis, Dolores Hydock, Bil Lepp, & Josh Goforth on Friday, May 17th.
  • Firekid (Dillon Hodges and Heidi Feek) on Saturday May 18th.
-Killer Beaz is back on March 23rd to deliver his nationally renown standup routines. This is a show you don’t want to miss if you are a comedy lover! Tickets are available now!
 -Jimmy Johnson’s Birthday tickets are selling fast! Get yours now for the show on February 19th! This show pays tribute to one of the original swampers with special guest artists TBA. If you have heard  about our past birthday shows, you know to get your tickets early before they sell out!
-Don’t miss Shakespeare At The Shoals production of the classic romantic comedy “Much Ado About Nothing” running February 15th-17th!

Meanwhile, a bitter and troublesome Don John schemes to destroy Claudio and Hero’s engagement by besmirching Hero’s honor. It’s Rom-Com Shakespeare Style!
