THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HUNTSVILLE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR FREEZING RAIN AND LIGHT SNOW… WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 AM CST TUESDAY.
* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED… ALL OF SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE AND NORTHERN ALABAMA EXCEPT CULLMAN… MARSHALL… AND DEKALB COUNTIES.
* ACCUMULATIONS… UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE… WITH A LIGHT DUSTING OF SNOW POSSIBLE BEFORE PRECIPITATION ENDS.
* IMPACTS… AREA ROADWAYS… ESPECIALLY ELEVATED AREAS SUCH AS BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES… WILL LIKELY BECOME SLICK DUE TO THE FREEZING RAIN. EVEN JUST A GLAZE OF ICE ACCUMULATING ON ROADS COULD CREATE HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.
