DECATUR-The first weekend in March, 27 high school soccer teams will make their way to the Jack Allen Recreation Complex for the annual River City Shoot-Out, a two-day soccer tournament sanctioned by the Alabama High School Athletic Association. Hosted by the West Morgan Lady Rebels, the competitive high school varsity soccer tournament is set for March 3-4, 2023.
The River City Shoot-out will be bracket play with all teams playing three matches. There will be two varsity boys divisions (eight teams each) and two varsity girls divisions (seven team bracket and four team bracket). Registration is closed and teams to compete in the girls divisions include East Limestone, Florence, Grissom, Hamilton, Hazel Green, Lawrence County, New Hope, Randolph, Russellville, Southeast Whitfield (Ga.) and West Point. The boys two divisions include Austin, East Limestone, Elkmont, Hazel Green, Glencoe, Grissom, Hamilton, Lawrence County, Mars Hill, Muscle Shoals, New Hope, Randolph, Sparkman, St. John Paul II, West Morgan and West Point.
Matches will be played on Friday, March 3 at 6:00 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. and at 10:00 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 4. Admission is $5 per person on Friday and $10 per person on Saturday.
