Wesley “Sonny” Marshall, age 76, of Sheffield, AL passed away Thursday, April 07, 2016. Visitation will be Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel; with service to follow in chapel at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Phillip Wright will be officiating.
He was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church and VFW of Sheffield, Carpenter Local 1192 and the Masonic Lodge in Littleville. Sonny was a Veteran of the United States Navy.
He is preceded in death by parents, Henry and Geneva Marshall; son, Terry Marshall; daughter, Tina Riddle; half-sister, Kathryn Looney, and beloved pet Cookie.
Survivors are wife of 25 wonderful years Ethel “Lou” Marshall; son, Jody Marshall of Florence, AL; step-sons, Kevin Zills of Pulaski, TN, Chris Zills (Fredda) of Shelbyville, TN; step daughter, Kristy Dillard (Javier Gonzalez) of Florence, AL; brother, Paul Marshall (Martha) of Sheffield, AL; sisters, Linda Camus, and Judith Reive Burton (Milt); eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Josh Marshall, Brian Marshall, Javier Gonzalez, Chris Zills, Jason Cole, and Chip Gaisser.
In lieu of flowers make donations to Spring Valley Baptist Church.
