Wesley Nesbitt Thompson, 74, passed away Oct. 27, 2015, at his residence. He was a native of Colbert County, employed as an electrician at Reynolds Metal Company and Alcoa, then as an assistant business agent at IBEW Local Union No. 558 where Wesley retired. Wesley was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed watching sports and working in the yard. He adored his two grandchildren, Anna Kate and Wes, and enjoyed watching their athletic activities.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, from noon-2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. and will be conducted by Rodney Schubert. Masonic graveside services will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Nesbitt, Rod Nesbitt, Boyce Nesbitt, David Nesbitt, Todd Thompson, Vance James and Blair Krieger. Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Crouch, John Riedel, Jerry Borden and John Scott Stansell.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by parents, Charles Henry and Stella Mae Thompson.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joy Thompson; son, Jon Thompson (Sandy), of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; grandchildren, Anna Kate and Wes; brother, Don Thompson, of Jasper, Alabama; and sisters, Peggy James (Bob), of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and Judy Krieger (Bill), of St. Florian, Alabama.
