Rev. Wendell Anderson Meggs, age 99, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at NHC Springfield. Graveside services will be conducted at 11am Friday, November 11, 2022 in the Adams Cemetery with Rev. David McIntyre officiating.
Mr. Meggs was born September 6, 1923 in Greenville, MS to the late Ludie Lee and Pearl Alford Meggs. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a United Methodist Minister.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Ruth Jones Meggs; brothers, Emmerson Meggs and Ed Meggs; and a nephew, David Meggs.
Mr. Meggs is survived by a son, Mark Meggs; sisters-in-law, Betty Katherine Jones and Margaret Meggs; nieces, Susan Martin and Margaret L. Meggs; and nephews, Fort Meggs, Donald Meggs and Phillip Meggs.
