Weldon Stone, 86, of Russellville, AL, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016, at the Cottage of the Shoals Nursing Home in Tuscumbia, AL.
Having lived in Franklin County, AL all of his life, Mr. Stone was a member of the Isbell Church of Christ. He retired from Franklin Electric Cooperative after having worked there 48 years.
Visitation for Mr. Stone will be at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Bro. George Hutto will be officiating. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens in Russellville.
Mr. Stone’s survivors include his son William L. Stone (Sandra) and daughter Alice DeFoor (Steve), all of Russellville. Siblings include a sister Polly Singleton of Foley, AL and a brother James Stone of Muscle Shoals, AL. He also has two grandsons, Kevin Stone (Tia) and Kyle DeFoor (Melissa) as well as two great grandchildren, Raney and Shaler Stone.
He was predeceased by his wife Ruth Stone in 2014 and by brothers Oneal, Billy Joe, Jerry, Jack, and Johnny Stone.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Stone, Kyle DeFoor, Mike Stone, Raymond Horton, Jimmy Manning, and Martin Gault.
The family of Mr. Stone would like to thank Dr. Richard Deal and staff as well as staffs of the Cottage of Russellville and Cottage of the Shoals for the excellent care provided for their loved one.
