Wednesday’s Drowning Victim Near Eagle Point Has Been Identified

SHEFFIELD-Around 3:30Pm on Wednesday the Sheffield Police Department, Sheffield Fire and Rescue along with Colbert County Sheriff’s Deputies, Alabama State Troopers, Colbert County EMA and members of  the Colbert County Dive Team are searching and area near Eagle Point and the Village Boat ramp in Sheffield looking for a swimmer who did not resurface after jumping into the river.

Sheffield Police Chief Ricky Terry has released the name of the drowning victim.  The young man who died has been identified as Keil McCoy 21 Years of age from Indiana.
