Funeral for Weaver G. “Buck” Adams, 71, of Decatur will be Friday, October 25, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Carl Maynard officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Adams, who died Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at his residence, was born April 16, 1942, in Greensboro to Weaver J. and Pearl Adams. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from International Paper after 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Don Adams; one sister, Peggy Almerson; one grandson, Chase Adams.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley F. Adams; two sons, Dewayne Moland and Mike Adams; two daughters, Catrina Woodruff and Donna Shedd; two brothers, Henry Adams and Randy Adams; five sisters, Sue Lathum (Raymond), Judy Montez (Fineos), Lorene Allen, Odean Smith and Jo Drake; and six grandchildren, Chase Woodruff, Caeli Woodruff, Megan Moland, Justin Adams, Zackery McCorkle and Carli McCorkle.
Pallbearers will be David Mason, Sherrel Peck, Hurshel Lenley, Raymond Lathum, Jerry Lathum and Terry Lathum.
