Rev. Wayne Roden 82 of Albertville passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at his home.
A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2024 at Albertville Memorial Chapel. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery in Boaz. A eulogy will be given by Bart Kirtland. Pallbearers will be Brandon Burns, Matt Sanders, Zach Frasier, Andrew Land, Grant Garner, Brody Roden, and Danny Ray Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will be Marlon Killion, Mickey Monroe, and Gaylon Dunn.
His family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 5 until 7 at Albertville Memorial Chapel. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations be made in his memory to Shepherds Cove Hospice.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Sue Camp Roden; children: Darlene Garner (Greg Redden), Karen and Buster Land, and David Roden; grandchildren: Ashley and Brandon Burns, Audra and Matt Sanders, Anna and Zach Frasier, Andrew and Anna Land, Grant and Presley Garner, Natalie Roden, and Brody Roden; great-grandchildren: Abby, Ansley, Avery, and Baker Burns; Addie Mae, Roman and Reed Sanders; Corbin and Amelia Frasier. He is also survived by his sister: Redith Roden; his chosen family: Sherry Bryant; Bart, Dana, and Tanner Kirtland; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Charlie and Minnie Roden; son-in-law: Wesley Garner, and ten brothers and sisters.
