The funeral service for Wanda Smith Headrick, age 62 of Lineville, will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Pastor Larry Mitchell and Pastor Cherry Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Lineville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Headrick passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Clay County Hospital. She was a Calhoun County native but had lived in Clay County for all of her life. Mrs. Headrick had worked for Higgins and Robinson Manufacturing and had also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center and the Clay County Nursing Home. She enjoyed attending church services at the nursing home and hospital with Faith Christian Fellowship. Mrs. Headrick was an avid Alabama fan and was a person who was funny and knew how to make others laugh. To know her was to love her and in turn she was a straight forward woman whose favorite occupation was to be a mother who loved others with all her heart. She loved hard – the only way she knew how.

Mrs. Headrick is survived by her daughter, Michelle Morris (Greg) of Lineville; her special daughter, Tonya Johnson of Heflin; her stepdaughters: Niki Hubbard (Robby) of Sumiton, Vanessa Whitman (Jimmy) of Alexander City and Kristy Ford (Michael) of Dora; her brother, Mike Smith (Sandy) of Lineville and her six grandchildren: Justin Morris, Caitlin Morris, Chelsea Watts, Jacob Watts, Bella Hubbard and Jase Hubbard; her niece, Nikki Hill Sparks; her nephews, Jason Hill and Eric Smith and a large extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James Jewel “Bill” Smith and Helen Marie Taylor Smith; one beloved sister, Dianne Hill and one brother, Roger Smith.

Justin Morris, John Hurst, Johnny Watts, Robby Hubbard, Josh Livingston and Josh Smith will serve as active pallbearers. Jacob Watts, Jase Hubbard and Jason Hill will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville. In addition, the family expresses special acknowledgement to the staff of Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center for their tender care during Mrs. Headrick’s three-month rehabilitation.
